The Japanese House

Music is something that really helps me when it comes to things such as university, and that is what inspired my choice of artist this week. This artist was introduced to me by my flatmate when I first moved into student accommodation. She is called Amber Bain, but goes professionally by the title, ‘The Japanese House’.

Billie Eilish

Although the artist I am featuring this week is not quite as unknown to the mainstream when compared to my previous posts, I was inspired to write about her because I’m baffled that she slipped under my radar for so long. The artist I’m speaking about is 16 year old singer/songwriter Billie Eilish.

Chelou

The mysterious and immensely talented artist known as ‘Chelou’, will be the topic of this week’s post. Chelou is somewhat of an enigma, as there isn’t much background information out there about him, only his released music and his posts on social media.

Waterstrider

The band I am writing about this week truly represents the main theme of this blog, as they are a band that creates absolutely outstanding music but currently have a very small following. Waterstrider as a band are still very under the radar, and because of this there isn’t much trivial information out there about them, so this post will mainly be about the music.

First Aid Kit

Although they have had a wide array of successes in their career so far, I was inspired to write about this band this week as I received tickets to see them in February as a gift, which inspired me to start listening to their music again. This band is First Aid Kit.

Broken Bells

This week I am going to be discussing a possibly more well known band, however they aren’t as well known as I think they should be, and this band is Broken Bells.

Lo Fang

The wonderfully talented musician, Lo Fang, began his career under his birth name, Matthew Hemerlein. Raised in a family of musicians, he has been playing the violin since he was only five years old, and it is still a key feature in his music today, combined with electronic bass sounds, making his songs amazingly unique.

Cocorosie

For my very first post, I want to talk about a band that have been around for years and really deserve more attention than they get.

Cocorosie was formed by two sisters, Bianca and Sierra Casady all the way back in 2003. I first heard one of their songs, which was, ‘Smokey Taboo’, in early 2015 and was instantly hooked on their unique style and have been a fan ever since.
